The museum also has a collection of more than 1,500 architectural photographs of District Six which were taken in the 1960s and 1970s by Jan Greshoff, Professor of Architecture at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Bradlow, AdilThe SAHA Original Photograph CollectionLinkAfrican Media OnlineLinkThe photographs in this archive are a selection of images I shot during the early years of my career as a journalist. They span from the beginning, as a freelance news photographer on the streets of Cape Town just as a state of emergency was declared in the mid-1980s. Then by 1987 I was on contract with the Associated Press covering the broad range of news stories related to the struggle against Apartheid. After the release of Nelson Mandela and the unbanning of the ANC, and the eventual elections in 1994, I began to travel beyond our borders covering some of the big news events of the period. In 1999 I quit stills and switched to television where I continue to work to this dayLinkSA
